Talk With Your Toddler DVD

The CDC is pleased to announce the launch of Talk with your Toddler. This 20 minute DVD was designed to help parents who have children who are late to start talking. As you watch parents playing and enjoying daily activities with their ‘late talkers’ you will be shown how to use clear ideas across the day to develop language in your toddler. The six areas shown are: Gestures; Taking Turns; Playing; Sounds; Shaping Words; Joining Words. The setting for the DVD is home based to help parents connect with the reality of practicing skills in a busy day.

The DVD was written and created by Speech Language Pathologists Zoe Watt and Rachelle Viray to be in line with the family centred child focused philosophy of the CDC, and reflects their professional experience of how parents succeed as they help their child to talk.  It is research based to target pre-verbal language areas which are the basis for verbal language to develop. The DVD came to life through the inspiring children featured and by their parent’s generous participation in the DVD, and we thank them for their unstinting support and enthusiasm for this project.

The DVDs are available for $10 each. For additional information, please call Debbie at (250) 563-7168 ext 225 or email enquiries@cdcpg.org
